Nesting Areas

In the United States most eaglesare found in Alaska, Florida, around the Great Lakes the Pacific Northwest, Maine, Chesepeake Bay and a few other areas around the coast.  Bald eagles nestin the same areaeach year.
Southern eagles nest in Mexico, southern California, Arizona, Oklahoma, Texas, Louisiana and the southern Atlantic states.
There are three terms biologists use to describe the area in wich a breeding pair of eagles lives: the "nets site", wich refers to the nest itself.  The "breeding territory" describes the are around the nest.  And the "home range" is the are surrounding the breeding are within which the eagles travel, roost and search for food.  In a few areas nests were within 1,000 feet from each other.  Today eagles rarley nest this closley to each other.
