The Navajo Inians are a very
fascinating Native American tribe! They largely inhabited the Soutwest
United States and are closely related to the Athabaskan family. They
are also closely related to the Apache Indians,
also of the Southwestern United States.
Historically, the Navajos never
came in contact with the Spaniards, the people
that so dramaticlly changed the lives of many tribes, until the 18th and
early 19th century. They introduced horses, sheeps and goats that
helped the hunting and economy of the Navajos greatly. They hunted
the Great Plains for bison,
antelope, deer, etc.
