The End of the stand-up
After winning the battle known as "The Battle of Rosebud," in which the Sioux and combined tribes won, General Custer went back to base and picked up more men. Sitting Bull, knowing that the war was only won because of their immense numbers, had to think of a battle plan. He performed the ritualistic "Ghost Dance," in which he had a vision of soldiers falling from the sky. He began to panick, knowing what his vision meant. There were so many native warriors that were dead or severly injured, it was nearly impossible for the Sioux to defend their land, even with the help of the Cheyenne and Arapahoe. When the army arrived, Sitting Bull was ready to flee. Before the soldiers got to him, he was already gone. He and some of the main leaders of the fighting tribes fled to Canada. The army ended up winning the "Battle of Little Big Horn."
