Sitting Bull's glorious victory
With the army pushing the Sioux westward, Sitting Bull and the Sioux Indians know that they were way outnumbered. Sitting Bull, being the leader that he was, was able to talk the Cheyenne and the Arapahoe tribes into fighting along side the Sioux. This was actually a big event for the relationship between the tribes because they had been fighting for many years over hunting lands. Now, with about 3x the people they had earlier, the Sioux, the Cheyenne and the Arapahoe were finally ready to defend the land which was rightfully theirs. So, when the U.S. Army came on June 17, 1867, the Indians were ready and waiting. They won the battle, which is known as the, "Battle of Rosebud," but lost many warriors. If they were gonna be ready for the next group of soldiers to come, which is historically know as the, "Battle of Little Big Horn," they would have to recover from their injuries rather quickly.
