The corn that the Iroquise grew was very important to them. They would have festivals twice a year to honor the corn. They would have two festivals one before they planted the corn and one after they planted it before it needed to be picked. Corn is linked to bread because many of the Native Americans ate corn with their bread. Corn and bread was their main foods.
