When the Ojibwa first tradedwith the whites they got
their first gun and bottle of
whiskey. They made an old women test the
bottle because they thought it was poision. She tested it and after she
aeoke she wanted more. they tried it and liked it. After that they called
the whiskey "Mother's Milk". Some of the Indian tribes traded
food and animal skins for whiskey or other alcoholic beverages.
