Daniel Parke Custis
Daniel Parke
Custis was a plantation owner. He owned more
than one house. When he and Martha got married,
he gave her a choice of where she wanted to live, the White House or another
house in the mountains. She chose to live in the White House.
Daniel
met Martha at Governor Gooch's grand ball.
He took one look at her and fell in love. Daniel was the first and only
person to dance with Martha. Martha continued to dance with him through
out the night.
