Plantations

1) A group of cultivated trees or plants.
2) A large estate or farm on which crops are raised and harvested often by resident workers.

When Martha was born, she lived in Chestnut Grove, Virginia. She and her family lived on a plantation and had slaves. The kind of plantation that she lived on was like a large farm.
