One of the many experiments Tom conducted was with his friend Michael Oates. He believed that if his friend drank a mixture that would make him have gas bubbles that he would be able to fly like a gas filled balloon. As we all know this was unsuccessful and Michael was temporarily ill. His mother and father were so upset, he almost had to give up his laboratory.
