Athabaskan refers to a type of grouping. They are part of the Woodland Indians and had desendants called the Na-Dene. Chipewyan and Navajos are also part of the Athabaskan group.  It comes from a body of water called, "Lake Athabaska." Athabaskans were from the southwest. They lived in the Rocky Mountains and the Great Plains. They hunted many things but one main thing was the caribou. Athabaskans had one-piece trouser and moccasin outfits. They also had buckskin shirts with procuppine quills.
